Asylum

  • Below are links to both of Cheril's previously produced, award-winning plays.

Asylum is an award-winning play based on the true story of a lesbian who fled you Uganda to escape an honor killing by her father. Asylum was first produced in New York City as a part of the Downtown Urban Theater Festival where it won the Audience Award and was runner-up for Best Play. Since then, it has been successfully mounted in Philadelphia (2015), where it received excellent reviews. Click the image below to visit the official website that has photos, videos and more!

"'Fearless' is a word thrown around so often that we may neglect its weight, but ASYLUM is fearless. The play is not afraid of its sexuality; not afraid to make bold statements about a male-dominated society in Uganda—and even here in the West; not afraid to stand up for what is right...ASYLUM is unapologetic and incredibly human." - Dante Robinson, Phindie.

    Intimate Chaos

Intimate Chaos, which is based on the novel of the same name, is Cheril's first produced play. A dramedy based on love and betrayal between two women, Intimate Chaos has been staged multiple times in New Jersey, Philadelphia and even translated to Spanish for a production in Puerto Rico.
